This past year has been so challenging on so many levels and we would like to come together to give back to those most adversely impacted by this pandemic. With Valentines Day just around the corner, we thought this would be a good opportunity to show our love and support for our neighbors in need by contributing to our local food bank with a virtual food drive. Did you know the food bank can provide four meals or five pounds of food for just one dollar!!?? Yes, just .25 cents provides one meal!!! Every donation makes a difference and no amount is too small.
The Food Bank of the Rockies has changed their donation guidelines around canned/dry goods due to efficiency and safety considerations resulting from the pandemic. We know that in the past students have felt empowered by traditional food drives and we want them to have an opportunity to participate. To that end we will be working with classroom teachers to distribute coin collection receptacles. Teachers may use this to enrich their money math lessons and to strengthen their classroom communities - please encourage your youngsters to give as well!!
Please know that this is completely voluntary and we know some in our own community have been severely impacted this year. We want you to know we are here for you too, please reach out to let us know if your family is experiencing a need and we will work with you to find helpful resources.
If you are able, we hope you and your family will consider joining together with your Inspire Elementary community to help this important cause! Thanks in advance for your help!
